Overview / Vue de haut
The canoe viewed from the side, trying to give an overview. It has some really nice lines.
Le canot vu de côté. J'essaye de donner une bonne vue. Le canot a de très belles lignes.
Broken Ribs / Côtes brisées
Three broken ribs. Damage done years and years ago. I do not recall when this was done, but long before I inheritted the canoe. This may be one of the most challenging parts to fix.
Trois côtes brisées. Le dommage a été fait il y a des années. Je ne me rappèle pas quand ça a été fait, mais bien avant que je ne prenne possession du canot. Ceci sera probablement une des réparations les plus difficiles.
Damage to canvas / Toile endomagée
The canvas was last changed well over 40 years ago. Not surprising that it's starting to break apart.
La toile a été changée il y a plus de 40 ans. Pas surprenant qu'elle commence a se décomposer.
Dry rot in the bow / Pourriture sèche dans la proue
Dry rot has begun in the bow. From grass left to grow stupid around the wooden horses the canoe was resting upon.. I am upset with myself on this one.
Pourriture sèche qui démoli la proue. Dû a avoir laissé le gason envahir le chevalet sur lequel le canot reposait. Je ne suis pas très content de moi avec ça.
Gunwale needs replacing / Plat-bord doit être changé
The gunwales have had it. Both sides, both inside and out.
Les plats-bords sont fichus. Les deux côtés, intérieur et extérieur.
Inside bow / Intérieur de la proue
Going to have to reshape this.
Faudra refaire cela.

Even with the damage, I can't help thinking it's a beautiful craft. I hope I'll do it justice once it's done.
Même endomagé, c'est un magnifique canot. J'espère que je serai à la hauteur et ferai une bonne rénovations.
